Ring Making in Sideman, Bali

Indonesia has a rich history of unique handmade jewellery techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation. We wanted to do something really authentic and unique when we were in Bali, so we decided to go to Arung Silver in Sideman. This was hands down the most fun and memorable experience to do in Bali which I would highly recommend!

The process started off with the owner giving us the amount of silver we purchased. We then put it into a bowl where we had to melt the silver and then make it into a long strip, ready for flattening.

After we flattened and stretch the strip of silver, we could start designing and shaping it.

The final step was to sand and buff it. Then voila, we made our own silver ring souvenir!

We really enjoyed doing this experience as it was truly immersive and experiential.

Most people create rings, but you can also make a bracelet and other types of jewellery. It costs 450,000 per person and includes 5g of silver. Every extra gram of silver will cost you 50,000. You can pay by cash or card (there is an additional 3% fee if you are using card). The experience took us 3 hours but this can differ depending on your chosen design.

Make sure you book the experience is advance as the place is really popular and there are a lot of visitors. There is no fee to pay in advance for reservation. You can book via WhatsApp, which is what I did – the number is +62 81 337 035 113. They will then send you more information about the class and map via WhatsApp.
